What I learned my first year at SaaStr

A few weeks ago I attended my first SaaStr Annual. This 3-day conference in San Francisco had sessions on all aspects of SaaS companies including marketing, sales, funding, development and customer success. Surrounded by roughly 10,000 other SaaS enthusiasts, I had a fun experience learning from speakers and meeting my peers. I honestly didn’t know what to expect from the event, but I arrived off BART with an empty backpack (ready for swag) and an open mind. I wasn’t disappointed. Here are my top takeaways as they relate to my job in customer success, which is to help you grow your partner channel with PRM. And –  they’re valuable whether or not you’re in a SaaS company!

The Importance of the Little Things in Partner Success

Remember when you actually had to pick up the phone to get in touch with someone?  When was the last time you remembered a phone number? Emailing has become the go-to method of communication and simply  picking up the phone to call a customer or partner seems to have gone extinct practically overnight (at the least the dinosaurs had millions of years before saying their good-byes!). Sometimes little things make a huge impact on our customers’ experience. And in the case of the channel, your customers are your partners. Taking simple and consistent steps to establish and maintain a good relationship can make all the difference to customer/partner success.
