Will these companies come together to form one, big, happy family? Will they run on parallel tracks or be pulled into one? How independent will VMware remain? Uncertainty and doubt are never good in the channel, and partners don't like change – especially this much change. Dell has made signals (like going private) that indicate an investment in software, but they've made pivots to hardware and services as well so it's hard to see how things will shake out.
